I am a digital designer and developer based in Melbourne, Australia, with over ten years experience creating smart, elegant and engaging online experiences that my clients and their users love.
I have been working in the web industry since 2000 and am currently a co-director of Forde + Nicol, a design and digital development studio. Before embarking on a career as a web designer I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and spent several years working as an arts administrator in New Zealand before relocating to Melbourne.
At the heart of my practice is a belief in the power of thoughtful, user-focused design, and a passion for bringing ideas to life through code. The websites and applications I create are developed for the modern web, and anchored by traditional graphic design principles.
It’s always nice to get a pat on the back for a job well done.
My work has appeared in publications including The Alamanac Of Asia Pacific Design II (Hong Kong), Web Designing magazine (Japan), Rethink, Redesign, Reconstruct (USA), Beautiful Decay (USA) and Indie Fonts 2 (USA), and was included in the exhibition To A T at the Museum of Design, Atlanta.
My client work and personal projects have been showcased on top industry websites including siteInspire, Smashing Magazine, Sitepoint, Communication Arts, httpster, Coolhunting, One Page Love and Abuzeedo.
Over the years I have been fortunate enough to work with clients ranging from startups to some of the world's most admired brands. Here are a few of the fine folk I’ve had the pleasure to work with, either in my own studio practice or while under contract for another agency:
Victoria’s Secret / The Australian Broadcasting Corporation / Melbourne Art Fair / Nike + Philips / Parks Victoria / Netball World Cup 2015 / Myer / Supervision New York / Jetstar / Bravado / Universal Pictures / Coca Cola / Telstra / Country Road
